It may seem almost criminal, but the Hunter Museum is giving you 30 seconds to get away with the best piece of art you can get your hands on during its annual Smash and Grab event later this month.
Just to keep things legal, a suggested donation of $25 buys a raffle ticket allowing attendees to the Hunter Underground event a shot at an art heist that can go a long way to enhance their personal collection.

“These pieces are specifically selected to appeal to new or first-time collectors,” Katrina Craven of the Hunter Museum says of the pieces from artists in Chattanooga and Nashville. “These are quality works that are great to be the foundation of a personal art collection.”
Craven adds that attendees can expect a cool, underground club sort of vibe at the event. “We don’t normally let people party in the basement of the Hunter,” she says. “But this is one time when we love for people to come out. This is unusual and a fine chance to connect.”
Avant-art is sponsoring Hunter Underground, which also features food, music, cocktails and a silent auction with bids beginning at $500.
